Fanny Koutzarova

Concert Pianist • Piano Teacher • Chamber Musician • Artistic Director of the “Musical Zografi” Festival

For more than two decades, I have dedicated my professional career to concert performance, chamber music, and music education. As a concert pianist and piano teacher, I work with children, young people, and adults who wish to develop their musical talent, technical skills, and artistic expression.

I offer individual piano lessons in Sofia and online, tailored to the age, level, and goals of each student from beginners to advanced musicians. I believe that music education develops not only performers, but also confidence, discipline, sensitivity, and creative thinking.

Alongside my performing and teaching activities, I create opportunities for meaningful encounters between artists, audiences, and cultural communities. As Artistic Director of the Muzikalni Zografi Festival, I work to promote chamber music, support emerging artists, and foster cultural dialogue and new artistic collaborations.

Music as a Profession, a Calling, and a Responsibility

Over the years, through my work on the concert stage, in music education, and in collaboration with young musicians, I have come to realize how often talent remains unseen. Not because of a lack of ability, dedication, or inspiration, but because of a lack of opportunities, support, and access to the right environment for growth. This conviction inspired me to establish Pro-Artibus Association - a community of artists and like-minded people united by the idea of creating a vibrant, meaningful, and accessible cultural environment. I believe that culture should reach more people, more communities, and different generations.

Muzikalni Zografi is A Festival with a Mission

The Muzikalni Zografi Festival is a natural extension of this vision. We created it with the aim of providing opportunities for talented artists, encouraging cultural exchange, and creating a space where tradition and contemporary artistic expression can meet.

• emerging artists and new creative voices;
• chamber music and innovative artistic projects;
• Bulgarian artists with an international presence;
• international cultural exchange and masterclasses;
• dialogue between different art forms.

Why “Muzikalni Zografi”?

The name carries a symbolism connected to creativity, spirituality, and the lasting legacy that artists leave through their work. It reflects the belief that culture is created and preserved by people who dedicate their talent, knowledge, and passion to their art. The name also has a personal significance, referring to my long-standing creative collaboration with the artist Rumen Statkov, whose sensitivity to tradition, Bulgarian culture, and artistic imagery has left a profound mark on the philosophy of the festival.

Culture That Reaches People

One of the main missions of Pro-Artibus Association is the preservation of authentic Bulgarian folklore and its natural place within contemporary cultural life. We work to create meaningful connections between tradition and new generations of artists, while also promoting cultural education and active participation in the arts.

I believe that encounters with high-quality music and culture should be accessible, inspiring, and alive. This is why we continue to create events and initiatives that connect people with the arts in a meaningful and engaging way.

Cultural Brand Connecting Arts, Communities, and Generations Every society needs its creators of cultural memory - people who do not simply create art, but build bridges between the past and the future, between tradition and contemporary life, between artists and audiences. It is from this vision that Muzikalni Zografi was born. Today, Muzikalni Zografi is more than a festival. It is a registered cultural brand and a national platform established with the long-term mission of bringing together music, literature, visual arts, cinema, folklore, educational initiatives, and contemporary artistic practices within a shared space for...

Piano Lessons for Adults in Sofia – It's Never Too Late to Start Perhaps you have dreamed of playing the piano for many years. Sometimes that dream begins in childhood, but life takes a different direction. The years pass, and you may find yourself thinking that the right moment has gone. The truth is that when it comes to music, it is never too late. Over the years, I have worked with students of all ages, including people who began piano lessons in their fifties, sixties, and even seventies. Almost all of them came with the same concern – whether they would be able to succeed. After the first few lessons, that...

When Music Teaches a Child to Think Piano Lessons for Children in Sofia – Much More Than Music Education As a piano teacher with more than two decades of experience, I have observed something that parents rarely notice at first. The most important thing a child gains from piano lessons is not the ability to perform a piece of music. A child learns how to learn. This skill remains for life and often proves more valuable than all the notes they have learned to play. More and more parents are looking for piano lessons for children in Sofia not only because of the musical skills involved, but also because of the overall...
